All About Ali
CEO and Event Planner
In 2006 I co-ordinated my first large scale event; A fundraiser to say thank you to the Leukaemia Foundation who had kindly provided my family & I with accomodation & support whilst our mum was undergoing a bone marrow transplant & treatment for cancer at Westmead Hospital.
I had always loved to party & enjoyed the process of co-ordinating events but this was the moment I realised what I really wanted to do with my life.
Sadly mum lost the fight that year which made me more determined then ever to chase my dreams.
I spent some time travelling & working overseas and although I worked in project roles co-ordinating construction, mining & train building projects over the years I continued to coordinate fundraisers for The Leukaemia Foundation along with other charities linked to illnesses which have unfortunately affected my own life like Motor Neurone Disease and Breast Cancer and i'd throw a party at every given opportunity because I love to celebrate as much as I love to co-ordinate.
10 years, 2 babies & a lot of celebrations later with quite a few events in the portfolio, the most recent being our destination wedding in Hawaii I decided it was time to make that dream come true & A La Mode Events was born.
Each public event coordinated by A La Mode is used as a platform to raise money & awareness for a local charity because while I'm passionate about event planning I also love the opportunity to give back where I can.
While seeing a community come together & enjoy an event I've co-ordinated for a chosen charity gives me all the feels I get just as excited to work one on one with a corporate client to deliver a business goal or throw the best party ever for those in the business of celebrating.
